As I live in an isolated area, supplies are hard for me to get so I have to think outside the square.....I wanted to try to get the quilted effect on a cake, didn't have a tool for it so I created my own.

I bought the little stand from the $2.00 shop

Cut out the inside part

Viola! one quilting tool.

I have used it and although it was difficult for me to work out the first time round I am sure with practice and patience I will perfect its use.

Attached also is the link to my first ever attempt at quilting cake photo ...I was very pleased with the result.

Your cake looks great ... Cherry Ripe Mudcake sounds delicious! Great idea for a tool. I imagine cake things are hard to come by in NT.

Clever you & it works real well the cake looks so good thumbs_up.gif

I find I'm always having to think outside the box when it comes to cake tools, especially when some are so expensive. I'm always looking round thrift, diy & toy stores looking for something to adapt. My bf thinks I'm crazy!
