hi all

my most favourite cake to date is my Car cake. I was so much fun to make.
Although my picture taking skills leave a lot to be desired. It looks really dirty for some reason. It was a really nice yellow colour with shimmer all over.
Well thats my 2 bob's worth! thanks for letting me share!

Oh my gosh I love this thread. I love looking at all of these wonderful cakes. They are all so beautiful. Sugar_Plum_Fairy I would love to learn how to do string work like that it looks amazing. Unfortunately I do not have a favorite cake but hopefully I will soon. Going to try and tackle a volcano cake with a dinosaur. Hopefully it will all work out since I am still a beginner. thumbs_up.gif

This is one of those cakes that since there are so many on here in so many different variations it gets tired and no one seems to be interested anymore, it's like oh yea another diaper bag cake, big whoop. But it is one of my favorites cakes as far as babyshowers goes. http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1338381

But it does challenges you more, and make you want to try to find that one design that is so unique it catches everyones eye... I have another baby shower cake due this month so lets see....

I love that cake~ How did you make the little easel holding that name card? It is adorable; is it from a cutter? I seem to do a lot of baby shower cakes myself.. All my daughter's friends are having babies, babies, babies... LOL

Thanks cakesbyLJ, it was a cutter that I brought from Global Sugar Arts, I think it my favorite cakes to do becuase of the cuteness factor, you can never go over the top with it!

BTW that 50th birthday cake is gorgeous!

Here's mine to add to all the great ones on here already,
http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1335237.

I was so happy with how this turned out. I was a guest at the reception, so I go to see all the great reactions to it, then I posted it here and....well, crickets. Probably because it never made the homepage, or maybe because it's such a specific theme.

arosstx...I just commented on your photo and wanted to add something but it wouldn't let me comment again right away so I'll just do it here....

I love the set up you used for the photo...the flag added very nicely to the presentation and I'm surprised you didn't get more notice (must have been a really busy photo-uploading day).

Because of the BYU cake of course! Which is totally awesome by the way! I'm a RS secretary out here in NC, I don't know of you get this problem but everybody from church always expects a free cake just because they are members... OK back to the subject under-recognized cakes!!!

Great cakes everyone!

I have a couple of disappointments in my photos! icon_smile.gif The first one is my first ever 3D figure. The teddy bear was wearing a soccer jersey that the birthday boy actually wore to the party. I was pretty proud, but oh well!!!

http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1275273

The second one is from a PBS show called Word World, where all of the characters are made from letters. I can see how if you don't have little kids you would probably look at it and just think that I misspelled Tigger (from winnie the pooh)!! icon_smile.gif I was most proud of this cake because it was my first completely original cake. I've attached a picture of the toy too for comparison!

Ha ha I completely forgot about the BYU Helmet Cake icon_smile.gif Yes I am and that's a problem I get all the time unfortunately. I have hard time saying no too but then my husband kind of helps me stick to my guns! Good to know I am not the only one! These cakes are awesome by the way, I love looking at all these amazing talents that I might have looked over.

I have few under noticed ones too! I'm like you Shelly101 and Sweeteats, I'm really proud of my cakes when I upload them and then a few days go by and no comments. At that point I start thinking that maybe they aren't as good as I thought they were.... icon_cry.gif

I am so new to all of this, but my favourite cake would have to be the princess castle I did for my daughter's 4th birthday in February. I planned it out for weeks looking at hundreds of pictures and it took me the better part of a week to make.

That cake is what really gave me the decorating bug. Now I am addicted and want to learn as much as I can.
