I have been making cakes for a couple months now....and been using pillsbury from the box.....i would like to strat making the cake batter from scratch.........a simple yellow cake batter.........any suggestions? icon_sad.gif

I'm in the same boat! I'm searching for some good recipes. I have a book, Wedding Cakes you can Make, that has some recipes, but she mentions that they're not as moist as people are used to because of the box cake popularity, so she says to brush them with a syrup that she also provides the recipe for. I've been hesitant to try it... I was hoping there would be some fabulous recipe out there that would come out beautifully moist and perfect for decorating... I've searched through the recipes, but I'm just Lost! icon_cry.gif
