I have an order for a Hawaiian themed slab cake and there is 3 palm trees on the corner.I have tried to make them with fondant and they fell apart. icon_mad.gif Is there an easier way to make these?

Any tutorials? icon_cry.gif

If I can't find an easy way to make them I will just have to leave them off..but they really are cute..I don't have a way of getting plastic ones either...

I've done it using a pretzel rod for the trunk and I've made it with gumpaste and a skewer for the trunk. For the palms, I use gumpaste to make them then "glue" them together with gumpaste glue (gumpaste and water to make it like real paste glue). I'll lay one palm down on a bowl, egg, or whatever mold and then a glob of glue then a palm and so on. It usually takes at least a day for them to dry. When it is dry, I use more of the thickend gumpaste glue to get the trunk to stick.
