ANo probs kelsey, i'll have yours!
Sometimes when your not well it shows in your cake siany, can you rebake it?
Wow Gray - just WOW!!! That is wonderful. As a confirmed Disney freak, I think that has got to be just about the best ever Disney castle cake. Amazing.
Sian - oh you poor thing. What's up with your leg then? Is it tendonitis? I get that it's incredibly painful. You are suffering you poor thing and now your cake....you might feel a bit better tomorrow. Hope you get better soon.
Kelsey!!! Wondered where on earth you'd gotten to. Good luck to you and hope all goes well in your new venture.
Jean - forgot to ask - or did you say already?? - has your husband seen the cake yet?
Kathy
AKuuushi so nice to see you, I'm sure your new ventures will do fab. Wish you was near me as I'm desperate to try HD brows but can't find anyone close enough.
AIf I double the quantities in a recipe do I double the time? Falling back on lindy smuths choc cake but it's gonna take 3.5 hours if I double it, seems ages lol

Kathy they think it's a torn labrum, the last MRI they forgot to do the contrast so it has to be done again. I hope it gets sorted, been over a year now.

Oh no :( was it the pb one? have tried it twice and always did it so stuck to lindys from then on!
Yeah, PB one. I have just rushed and put the lindy one in but had to double the recipe for a 10 inch pan but I'm wondering if I am meant to double the time too, I assume yes, it just seems ages when I do lol

Can't you put the mix in 2 tins, I always do siany?
Only got one 10 inch square pan Barbara
AYes I only have 1 10" tin, few 8" , can you do up it twice then? It's what I do, i never bake it all in one tin, never have, I split the mixture quantities and do it in two stages, time consuming I know but it works for me and it turns out fine.

Hi Smysha
I buy my fondant from cake-stuff.com and you can get a sample pack from them that contains 7 different sugarpastes and marzipans for you to try.
The pack cost just £1 not sure about postage though as I usually buy in bulk and orders over £75 are free postage.
I've ordered it now! Looking forward to it coming. Thanks! :)
And thank-you for the welcome everybody!
ACan't remember on here whose has done a quilted cake, I did struggle with it, is there a knack? I used the patchwork quilting thingy, but I have the sheet too, didn't like it at all, ok around the front, when I got to the back there enough room for another line of quilting, but had to put one in, how do you get around that?

I bought the patchwork quilt cutter but haven't used it yet. It's quite small so can imagine it being quite difficult to work with on a large cake.
AI'm feeling a big cakey ordering session coming on tonight I feel like ordering a few bits and pieces for Christmas bakes.
ABarbara there is an impression one that has just three diamonds on it. That one can line up well.
AI actually turned down a castle with 11 turrets and 12 Disney dress cupcakes for the 2nd of Jan, right or wrong?
Tiddy thanks for the info on mexican paste.
Siany hope your cake turned out good and your feeling better.
Ooooh what did you buy Loubee
Why did you turn the castle down Nanny?
AAw roxy, 11 turrets, this is the first xmas i've had off in 19 yrs, only ever had Xmas day and boxing day off, if I did it it would mean I would spend ages making those and I would have to start baking on news yrs day, it's 2 tier, 11 turest and 12 very detailed cupcakes.
Don't blame you for turning it down then Nanny enjoy your time off with the family.
ACool indeed nanny! I'd have turned it down too tho.... I'm currently mulling over a full globe cake for dec 21st.... Never done one and don't want the stress so close to Xmas but it's a fab cake and I'd loooooove to try it!! Decisions decisions.....
Pmsl
Very cool Nanny, maybe she will come back next time she needs a cake.
Gray a globe sounds great and you would do an awesome job of it.
