Wow Gray - just WOW!!!  That is wonderful.  As a confirmed Disney freak, I think that has got to be just about the best ever Disney castle cake.  Amazing.

Sian - oh you poor thing.  What's up with your leg then?  Is it tendonitis?  I get that it's incredibly painful.  You are suffering you poor thing and now your cake....you might feel a bit better tomorrow.  Hope you get better soon.

Kelsey!!!  Wondered where on earth you'd gotten to.  Good luck to you and hope all goes well in your new venture.

Jean - forgot to ask - or did you say already?? - has your husband seen the cake yet?

Kathy they think it's a torn labrum, the last MRI they forgot to do the contrast so it has to be done again. I hope it gets sorted, been over a year now.

Oh no :(  was it the pb one? have tried it twice and always did it so stuck to lindys from then on!

Yeah, PB one. I have just rushed and put the lindy one in but had to double the recipe for a 10 inch pan but I'm wondering if I am meant to double the time too, I assume yes, it just seems ages when I do lol

AYes I only have 1 10" tin, few 8" , can you do up it twice then? It's what I do, i never bake it all in one tin, never have, I split the mixture quantities and do it in two stages, time consuming I know but it works for me and it turns out fine.

I buy my fondant from cake-stuff.com and you can get a sample pack from them that contains 7 different sugarpastes and marzipans for you to try.

The pack cost just £1 not sure about postage though as I usually buy in bulk and orders over £75 are free postage.

I've ordered it now! Looking forward to it coming. Thanks! :)

And thank-you for the welcome everybody!

ACan't remember on here whose has done a quilted cake, I did struggle with it, is there a knack? I used the patchwork quilting thingy, but I have the sheet too, didn't like it at all, ok around the front, when I got to the back there enough room for another line of quilting, but had to put one in, how do you get around that?

I bought the patchwork quilt cutter but haven't used it yet. It's quite small so can imagine it being quite difficult to work with on a large cake.
