Well thankfully my great niece's puppy party is over! I've been working on it forever (or at least it seems like it). I did not only the cakes but the whole party.
I had to make 30 cupcakes for her school and then 40 cupcakes and a cake for her party. All puppy theme.
The cake and cupcakes were a hit! I got two orders to make cakes and several others who asked about a business card.
Well I'm not licensed so I told the two people I could do the cakes for free as my gift to them and both said no they were going to pay me. I told them I can not ask for money since I'm not legal and both said "Well you can take a tip or gift and you will be getting that".
It felt really good to hear so many people I didn't even know say so many nice things about the cake and cupcakes.
I didn't even think they came out that great. But I didn't say anything about my mistakes and no one noticed a thing

She just turned 6 and when she first saw the cake and cupcakes she had a big smile and said "Those are ADORABLE!" When she walked in and saw the table set with puppy plates and table cloth, bone shaped cups, little dog bowls with "doggy" food cookies, a dog house with a stuffed dog inside and a dog collar bracelets, hats and doggy blow whistles she just about flipped out. So did the other kids.
There were so many kids telling their parents they wanted a puppy party for their birthday. It was really cute and exciting for me to see not only the parents being impressed but the kids too.
Even my sister who has in the past said mean things about my cakes said she was thrilled with how everything came out. She is the little girls grandma.
It sure does make you feel good when you see all your hard work appreciated.
