I know some people think it's more of a compliment to have their cake marked as a favorite that getting a comment
But I must say I hunger for complements.
No matter what level please, please continue to share cause not everyone is an unbelievable expert not do they even want to be. Me, I'm a hobbiest who makes maybe 6 cakes a year.but I sure do like to look.
I am one of those people that have only one comment on my cake. My cake was not an over the top, professionally decorated cake. It was for my grandson and it was the one with Power Rangers on the top. I am just a beginner and it was my 3rd cake. Almost 100 people looked and it but no comments - I suppose it was just ordinary and not worthy of comment.
My buttercream was almost flawless, I did a very good job with the fondant cutouts and it was a large cake. The figures were toys but I have seen cakes with silk flowers, real flowers, balloons, etc. so I didn't think that the figures would be a problem. Two 16" ovals at the bottom with a two layer 6 inch at the top
I feel that I will never post another picture because if it isn't a WOW cake no one likes it or comments on it. My DH says not to take it to heart too much that I am not a professional and should just forget about it.
I know how the people feel when they go through all of the effort, time and dedication to make a cake and no one likes it.

Please don't stop posting photos of your cakes...I just took a peek and let me tell you, your cake looks better than any of mine! 
I've been posting away at it, and when I just did a few more I saw it was down to only 5 pages!! WooHoo!!! And I can't believe the great work that wasn't ever commented on, alot were even made favorites with no comment. Argh. It only takes a second to comment on someone's hours of labor, especially if you add it to your favorites album.
TRUE IT'S NICE TO COMMENT HERE AND THERE ,,, BUT WHAT BUGS ME AND I WILL NOT LEAVE A COMMENT 4 THESE ONE'S IS PEOPLE WHO POST THIER CAKE AND I GO TO READ HOW TO'S UNDER THIER NAME AND THERES NOTHING ,,, SOME PEOPLE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THE CAKE WHY POST IT IF UR NOT GOING TO HELP SOMEONE . Sometimes too, people figure that if 5 people commented on how great it looks and its a favorite that the person knows they did a great job. Also, sometimes when you upload a picture it ends up in a huge batch of uploads. So, please don't get discouraged on posting your pictures. Sometimes it takes time and one picture will spark comments.
As to the really old pictures 2006 and such that happens because someone just turned the comments option on their photos - so all their photos go to the uncommented section. There were a ton of contest photos since we had 2 so close together.

kim62808 - the photo thing isn't necessarily to teach others but to inspire others, share ideas and even brag a bit to people who understand caking. Most of the CCers here are willing to help you with a technique. You can always PM them or even ask a question about the technique in one of the forums - people here are extremely helpful.

WELL ITS A PET PEEVE OF MINE WHEN I GO DOWN TO SEE HOW THINGS WERE DONE ON A CAKE AND IT'S BLANK BUT I DON'T HAVE TIME ALWAY'S TO PM SOMEONE AND WAIT DAYS FOR AN ANSWER SO I JUST GO ON TO THE NEXT PICTURE ,, BUT QUOTING WHAT U SAID ABOUT ITS FOR PEOPLE TO BRAG A BIT WHO UNDERSTAND CAKEING WELL THAT'S NICE TO KNOW SO NOW I CAN BE LAZY AND NOT BOTHER PUTTING ALL THAT MUMBO JUMBO ON MINE EITHER THANKS MAYBE YOU SHOULD BE NOMINATED

dont worry about only getting one comment - you have read how many pages of cakes we have been going through (20 pages is impressive enough - i dont even know what it started as!), all of those will probably only get one comment. a lot of them are really well done basic cakes, and it is iportant that that gets recognised - thats what galery support members are here for! ive seen some really awesome cakes, and they too will only get one comment. get your posts up, and become one of us, them you can help the cause - the more people to comment, the more likely cakes wont just get one comment.
what gets me is the posting more than one pic of the same cake - would it be bad form to give them a reminder that is should just be one picture?

Here's a link to the uncommented photos, but you can go to it by clicking on the galleries tab, when you get to the galleries, there will be a tab for uncommented photos. Hope this makes sense!

Thanks Susie53- I feel a bit silly that I have only been commenting on home page photos. But I am on the move....
Love CC and all it's members...I dream of the day when all of CC members get together for classes and meet ups. I attend painting classes each year and it is fun to meet the people you admire as well as learn tips and tricks from them.
BJNZ, don't feel overlooked, I have a lot of cakes that only have one comment but have had a lot of views & I feel that I am very happy that people have taken the time to click on the picture & have a look, even if they don't comment at least they looked & sometimes that is hard enough to do. I didn't see the photo of your cake, it was one I missed, I have just had a look & it is really good, we would love to see more of your work.

I found a few and helped out
I always just have to go through the newly uploaded photos since I am not a gallery supporter. It doesn't let me look at just the uncommented photos 
Most of the newly uploaded ones seemed like they had been commented on, so I bet it is those older ones that were moved/changed for contests.
What I don't get is why someone would want comments on those photos now if they never cared to have comments on them for the last 2 years 
But maybe that's just me...

Its really easy to join. Just click on gallery supporter under any gallery supporters name and it will take you where you join.

Wow, that easy?!?! I had no excuses for waiting that long. I always admire what you all do and it's obvious how much people love to see at least one comment on their cakes. Last night when I was trying to help out, I commented on a cake and got a lovely thank you today.
I can't wait to be approved to join!!!
