Hello,

I have a friend who is hosting a BBQ for her birthday and wants a cakefor 30 people. No problem I thought.

Then she tells me she does not want her name on the cake but she wants several of her friends Birthdays and a Wedding Anniversary to be on the cake.

Each person has a different interest:
1. A Hunter
2. A Poker Player
3. A Married Couple
4. A Teacher

My thought is: Make a Poker Table and using fondant write each person's name in there poker position. Using an Edible printer make each person a 5 card pokers hand. The Poker player will have the winning hand and all the poker chips and each other person will have in the poker pot something special to them since they are loosing. The hunter a fondant deer head, the Married Couple their wedding rings and the Teacher an Apple with a bookworm coming out of it. Along with poker chips.

Does that seem appropriate? Also I will have to write something to tie in the Birthdays and Anniversay - but What???

Any help will be appreciated - Thank you in advance.

Yes, it can be done. Your plan sounds good. Look at the czke I did for my friend's father's 75th birthday. I actually made 3 cakes, 2 were decorated with his interests the other was a Boston cream cake simply decorated. The one cake had his tractor, his favorite teams, etc.

Good luck,
Lori

I like what you've got going there--very creative. You could write along the sides of the cake (I mean poker table). Maybe "So much to celebrate" or "Celebrate Life". That's what came off the top of my head--cheesy but maybe it'll give you inspiration. icon_smile.gif Good luck!

You definetly could do the "casino" thing, You could make the cake the table like you said, then off to one corner (Picture a rectangle board) you could make a gumpaste arch (you could write happy ann. in it), like a tacky Las Vegas Wedding scene, an arch, colums with flowers on them, and thats where you could put your bride and groom, Then maybe in the other side of the corner you could put your sexy school teacher sitting by a pool surrounded by books or have her playing a slot machine with one hand on the lever and the other holding a book, I think if you do a scene you can easily fit more in. Its more work though but might work out. then maybe somewhere you could write "Your All Winners in my Book~Happy whatever"

Hope that helped give you some Ideas..Good luck It sounds like a fun cake.

Thank you guys for all your insopiration. And thanks for the bump -amy2197. I like your 75th birthday cake with different themes - Lori7201 but my friend diddent really seem to know all her friends personallities.
Alanaj - I was thinging something "Celebrate" glad to know you think along that line also. tnuty - I am doing the cake - poker table in the shape of an octagon and I thought about doing figures but do to pricing and not enought personal info I thought not for this one. But my original idea was to make each person sitting at the table. Your ideas were great just wish it were possible.

Thanks again everyone. I will keep you all posted - I made the poker chips and names last night. I will have to have everything done for friday.

Thank you for the compliment.

My friend really liked it but she was dissapointed because her friend the Poker Player did not show up.
