I have a bride who does not want fondant but the cake she chose is a cake that needs fondant decorations. It wouldn't look the same without them. Can I use the fondant swags, etc. on buttercream? If so, how do I attach them? icon_smile.gif Thanks. Vicky

In my experience, fondant swags will not adhere to buttercream, they will fall off, often pulling the icing off with them.

Oh please, I do it all the time. If the buttercream has crusted then put some fresh buttercream under where you want to attach the swag and slap it on there.

Hi Leah
Would buttercream or royal be better to attach the fondant to buttercream? Any tips would be welcome. Thank you.
