I have some that is getting pretty up there in months (maybe even a year)

How long is it good for?

I had mine for 6 months. I just kept it in an air tight container.

I've had some for almost 1.5 years that has been fine as long as I keep it wrapped tightly.

I think that I bought my red for LAST Valentine's Day. It's still soft - and it looks and smells ok - so I think I will use it for my birthday cake. It's just for us, but I still don't like taking chances!
