5 whole eggs and 1 white should be sufficient especially if the eggs are large. The vinegar recipe is a very specific one and will not work as a general substitute for egg.
i usually just add a bit extra milk, till it looks like cake mix should!

Hey, at least you were only one short!! The other day I had a cake in the oven an was cleaning up...guess what I found next to the mixer....Eggs!!! I had left all the eggs out and the cake was 3/4th's the way done!! ![]()

I have nightmares about doing something like that. I made a cake last night and couldn't quite remember if I put the oil in. I checked the measuring cup and it had oil residue so I guess I did.
