I have an idea to make my nephew's first birthday cake. He loves Sesame Street and music, so I thought of making the Sesame St. characters out of fondant and have each one playing a different instrument, like they're a marching band. So these would be some teeny tiny instruments. Has anyone tried anything like this (the instruments)? If so, I'd love it if you have any tips and or photos. I've done some searches, but haven't found any yet (of the instruments)! TIA!

I would stick to horns and drums which shouldnt be too hard to make. Also, use half gumpaste to your fondant so that your figures have enough stability to hold something. You want to put some kind of either wire or toothpick inside so that you can secure them to your figure.
