I am just wondering I have my first order for a purse cake and I understand how to carve and layer the cake. But my question is should I dowel the cake itself. I am unsure if that will make a difference or not. Any suggestions.

For me I would be a dowel down the center to support the cake.

questions - is your cake heavy layers.
How tall is your cake going to be - you made need to put a cake board in between with supports.

Also, does the cake have to travel and how far? the one support down the middle will help it from falling over.

The cake will probaly three layers, not too heavy. It doesn't have to travel far, I think I might dowel the center to be safe. Thanks for you help
