Since I have started working fulltime outside my home, I've been using But-R-Cream icing purchased from Sams Wholesale. Customers seem to love it and so do I since it saves so much time. I need some chocolate icing and wondered if I could use the white that I already have instead of buying more or making a batch. Any suggestions on how to make chocolate icing from white icing??? Also, would it be light or dark colored? Thanks.

You also can add melted chocolate to your normal buttercream, but make sure the chocolate is not too hot.

Another thing that you can do is, make some ganache and add it to your buttercream.

I agree with bashini, I add 6 oz of unsweetened chocolate to my regular bc recipe, melt and cool to room temp....
