I got a request for a cake today, but the customer does not like the look of smooth American buttercream. She wants something with a Betty Crocker icing texture and taste. (shudders)
Any suggestions on what I could use? I need to keep my costs low as she is only going to be spending 2$ per serving.

Thanks in advance icon_biggrin.gif

I'd say my icing is my icing.

I'll go only so far to accomodate clients. Changing my recipes is not a step I take.

agree with chutz. I get people who ask for whipped cream icing all the time. And in a really snooty voice, I tell them, "Sorry, I dont' DO kroger cakes" and then tell them if they want a kroger cake with kroger icing, there's one just 2 minutes down the road.

Works for me...
If she doesnt like it, well I'll point her in the direction of the baking aisle.
