I just made a mousse cake in my springform pan. I had to place in my magic line pan for a water bath. I wrapped my springform pan in alumin foil and placed boiling water around it. Well when I pulled the pan out of oven, the whole bottom of pan is now almost solid black except where pan was which is silver still. I have tried washing but is not cleaning. So two questions:

1. can I get the black off?

2. can I still bake in it without the black coming out on my future cakes?

Try SOS pads.
Try Cameo .... it's a stainles steel cleaner. Comes in a shaker "can" like Comet or Ajax.
Try Bar Keepers Friend ... it's a cleaner for copper and I THINK it works on stainless steel, too.

It's fine. Use it as is.
