I'm thinking of trying some buttercream lilacs. I was curious what tip would be the best? I'd like to pipe them directly on the cake. Any advice would be super!

I have an old buttercream flowers book. If I am not mistaken it says to use a star tip. You essentially pipe about three layers of stars, each layer progressively smaller. Do a search on here for lilacs and you'll find several pictures of cakes with lilacs on them.
Interestingly, I'm going to be attempting this myself this weekend.
