Tempering!

i really am in a bind i dont remember how to temper. i am making a pecan pie with a new recipe and i have to add eggs to the mixture but i have to temper them i don't know what to do. can anyone help major emergency!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thank you!!!!! icon_lol.gif

beat your eggs, add a third of the hot mixture to the eggs, whisk and then pour of all the egg mixture into the bigger pot of hot mixture.

Lightly beat your eggs together. Then add a small amount of the warm mixture to your beaten eggs while you quickly stir it together. This raises the temperature of the eggs so they don't end up scrambled. After that, slowly pour the eggs back into the original mixture and stir it together.
