Hi everyone... i need help!!! Does anyone know if the Hershey's chocolate cake recipe carvable? I've been asked to do a carved car cake but am worried that the Hershey's chocolate cake recipe is not sturdy enough to be carved. Has anyone used this recipe for a carved cake? And if not can anyone recommend me a good chocolate cake that is sturdy enough to be carved?? TIA!!!

I have never used the Hershey's recipe but I do a lot of carved cakes and I have found that Duncan Hines works best for me.I especially like the dark chocolate fudge,it's yummy! icon_smile.gif

If you mean the Hershey's "Perfectly Chocolate" Cake.........I would say no it is definitely not sturdy enough to carve.

i use earlenes (www.earlenescakes.com) "kahlua fudge" cake. it calls for chocolate pieces to go in right before pouring into pans...just make sure to smash into as small of pieces as possible. before carving, i freeze solid and then just carve really slowly. it's works great, and people rave about it.
