Recipe For An Apple Cake Needed Please!
Baking By cakedivamommy Updated 15 Nov 2008 , 4:48am by cakedivamommy
Hello everyone!
I am in need of a yummy and moist apple cake recipe. I tried one from the recipes section and it turned out horrible. I did everything correctly but I do not like the chewy texture that it had. While making it I figured I would not like it b/c it called for no water so I guess it was doomed from the start. Any cake recipes or icing recipes would be GREATLY appreciated!

Handy cake troubleshooting charts:
(Usually "chewy" is caused by overmixing which increases the gluten formation.)

Was it a doctored cake mix recipe?

Thank you Jan for your reply!
No, it was not a doctored cake mix. It was a scratch mix from the recipe section here. The only liquid it called for was the vanilla. The recipe said it would be thick but I didnt know it would taste like that either! The consistency was a chewy and VERY sticky cake.
