I'm going to try freezing my cakes for the first time. I always brush my layers with a flavoured simple syrup for moistness. Should I do this before freezing? Anyone know? Also should I let it thaw unwrapped because of the extra moisture?

Thanks,
Rachel

I brush my cakes with simple syrup before freezing and then let them thaw covered loosely with Saran Wrap...these are just the layers though, not iced or anything?

Yes, you put the Simple Syrup on before freezing. It helps to keep the cake moist when it's frozen. Then wrap the cake up in saran wrap, then tinfoil or freezer paper. I also put the cake in a trash bag for extra protection. Squirrelly taught me that.

When you thaw the cake out make sure you leave it covered. Let it sit on the counter top all day. Take the saran wrap & tinfoil off when it is thawed.
