I would like to know how you all are doing box lids for box cakes. Is the lid, cake, cardboard, foamboard, styrofoam or what?? Also, how do you get it to stay propped open without tending to slide or shift?
I have done a couple 2 different ways and wasn't all that comfortable with moving them.
I have heard about tracing the bottom of your pan on a piece of gumpaste for the top, and then make some sides using a straight edge. Let them all dry, very well, then glue together using royal icing.
