Yes, but I made the mistake of pouring on the marble & had to work fast! Oh and I found some sheets I had ordered like you make choc prints so I even tried some of that so I have a few hearts with snowflakes on them! I can't see me working fast enough to put that around a cake! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Had to take a break & cook a meal! icon_rolleyes.gif I have my cut-out cookies and my vintage image cookies in the freezer and my imaged Oreos! I am going to make a single recipe of hearts tonite to try with fondant on top and I am going to be done except I have to do some CC's for all these little choc hearts!
Duh! Telling all this in the wrong thread! Oh well, call it a "senior moment"!!!

I'm planning to make a bow for the top of a cake, like a looped bow from gumpaste, out of chocolate. I have some acetate and my plan, if all goes well, is to make the loops from that, let it set, and glue it together with chocolate. I have gold swirly transfers too! If all goes well, this will be one of my entries in the Arizona cake and sugar art show.

Jana I cannot wait to see the bow! Of course you will have to explain how you do it! We don't have any kind of shows like your talking about!

No email notifications. I was wondering what you all were up too lately.
I'll have to catch up on everything later.
I made little circle and tear drop cut outs of a chocolate transfer and then made little sandwiches filled with choc. mousse. (per Autumn Carpenters book). Except I screwed up the mousse by over mixing. DOH!!! Had to practically melt it back down and put it into the fridge. It wasn't really mousse like but more like a mousse flavored chocolate that you were able to pipe...barely. icon_lol.gif Still pretty, but not what I wanted to happen.

What type of chocolates and pastries would you make to wow someone?
I might have a good opportunity and I don't want to blow it.

I'm going to attempt the bow as soon as I get an opportunity though icon_smile.gif

Jana, for the choc IMBC is that all the chocolate you added was the chocolate syrup? Looks so good!

LinLiv - nope. I added a TON of melted bittersweet chocolate and then a few good squirts of the chocolate malt syrup to add a bit of sweetness. It turned out great. that was a half batch of IMBC, so about 3 cups, and I added at least 8 oz. of chocolate. Can't have too much, right icon_wink.gif

Chocolate IMBC sounds like something I would just stick my head in the bowl and eat my way out of. Between that and the dog food recipe I may break my scale too.

Fiddle-I wasn't sure where to post those transfer sandwiches. I had some chocolate pictures deleted since there is no where to actually put choc./candy pictures by CC rules. That's fine though, I understand why.
I wasn't sure what these would fall under. If I can't post them anywhere I'll try getting DH to post a picture to this thread (I'm horrible at that)
They really are pretty and where not hard to do.
Get those transfer sheets and go to town on them. Do you have the perfection strips to put on the sides of the transfer? They help to make sure it's all even, but you can do it without them too. I'll give you a hint though (found this out the hard way) put choc. just in the middle of the transfer and spread it out. Take a straight edge cookie sheet or something else with a straight edge and drag it across. Watch how much choc. you put on the transfer though. Always easier to add then to have too much and have lots of choc. just pushed to the end the transfer in a giant pool.

Well. just had to post my latest chocolate project. Very simple with molds! The largest would probably hold 4 truffles but the smallest are too small so I used M&M's!

ohhhhh, those are so pretty! Perfect for Valentines day and weddings.

I went to the liquor store to get bourbon for chocolates. (that sounded bad didn't icon_lol.gif but I swear it really is for chocolates).
They were getting rid of some of their choc. molds for 50 cents each. They are just the CK heavy plastic molds, but it will work. I bought 17 of them. Some are of swans, hearts, half circles, peanut butter cup molds etc. They had more but I just couldn't justify them. Oh who am I kidding, of course I could, but I restrained myself for once.
