the "Dogwood Wedding Cake" on sugarcraft.com?
I want to make this cake and it gives all of the instructions except for how many dogwood flowers to make.
Does anyone have any idea how many it would take?
Thanks,
Sherryb

Maybe you could e-mail them. They're pretty good at answering questions quickly. I've seen the cake - it's beautiful! Makes me want to buy the dogwood cutter and press set!

Good! They're good about answering questions. Did they give you a number?

drinking straws in the 2 bottom tiers for support. Straws should be cut to the heigth of the cake minus icing,

but added AFTER cake is iced

They mean put in your supports after you've iced your cake (measure and cut them then. However, using straws is not always a good idea depending on the weight of the cake you're looking to stack.

They just mean to add the supports (straws) after you ice the tier and before stacking.

thecakemaker...... no, sugarcraft didn't give me a number on the flowers...just told me to count what I could see and double it.
Which is what I had already thought about doing.

I haven't done a wedding cake yet....I have turned down a couple because it just makes me so nervous. icon_eek.gif

I am going to make the Dogwood Wedding Cake for my birthday and for a practice wedding cake, then maybe I will do one for real. icon_biggrin.gif
