I always have a problem with my MMF being too soft and sticky, so I wanted to try a new recipe. I found this old post I had printed off of the wilton boards. The recipe was 2 c marshmallows, 2T water and 1 1/2 pound of powdered sugar.

It turned into crumbs!!!!

That was way too much powdered sugar. I ended up melting the rest of the marshmallows and adding them in. Basically what I did was:

10 oz bag mini marshmallows
4T water with some flavorings mixed in
7-8 c powdered sugar

The MMF feels really firm and tastes the exact same. Do you think I will have any problems making a bow if I mix it with gumpaste?

Thanks!

I dont see why you would have a problem. That is how I make mmf, I just add alittle shortening.

I think you'll be fine. I don't know if it's because I live in extremely high humity or what.. but I NEVER follow the recipes... I just add the powdered sugar until it's the right firmness.

Oh Boy!

I am always having to just "eyeball" my powdered sugar when making fondant. It's crazy!!!
