I know were all looking for that special ingreident to make our cakes/icings stand out amongst the rest.

I've come across a small flavor packet in my store called True Lemon.
The packet contains a citrus powder. There is also True Orange and True Lime. The packets are little, just like a substitute sweetner packet.
I love True Lemon in my tea. I like it better than real Lemon!

So I was thinking of adding this to my icings and I'm going to experiment with adding a few packets to my white cuppies to make them Margarita flavored. Just a drop or two of green food coloring too. OR, add this to my icing and make them limey.

How about an orange flavored sugar cookie?

Here's a link so you can get your free samples.

PS-Look for this next to your substitute sweetners or in the juice section next to the bottled lemon juice (yuck).

I have this item and let me tell you....
It's awesome! icon_biggrin.gif
It's crystalized lemon and it makes my lemon cake very flavorfull.

I use it in my water to drink. With a little splenda or sugar, it makes a great lemonade.
They also have an orange, but you won't get that in the sample packet.

Ingredients: citric acid, maltodextrin, lemon juice, lemon oil, and ascorbic acid(which is vitamin c)

I tried the lemon in a quart of water where I would normally put 2-4 lemon wedges(I am not a big water drinker...it's an incentive...kindasorta....I love lemon). I put two packets(sample packets) and it isn't overpowering, it adds just enough flavor to keep me drinking it. aaaaaaaaaaand there were no extra calories to deal with sooooooooo I didn't have to cut back on eating cake to keep from feeling like I'd gone overboard with the "calorie budget".
