Sorry Newbie here but I want to bake a Tire Cake a was wondering how to get my fondant BLACK should I start off with my MMF and just add Black coloring? or should I buy brown Satin Ice and add black to it?
What would work best? also does anyone know what can I use to make the tire marks?

I would also suggest getting black satin ice, but if you are trying to save money, or don't have time to get it....you can color fondant black, I did it before I knew there was such a thing as black fondant. But I will tell you it will take a TON of paste color, and I would ONLY use AMERICOLOR GEL!!!! I would also suggest wearing gloves, if not you will be black or purple for weeks!!! TRUST ME! I made a 3D monster truck and for the tires I used black satin ice, and then free hand made the treads out of black royal icing! Good luck, hope this helps!
