What Flavor Cake Goes With Caramel?

I have seen several caramel filling/frosting recipes on here that sound great-I love caramel icon_lol.gif -but they don't mention what flavor cake to put with them-any suggestions?

chocolate of course! (Think "Milky Way" candy bar! "Twix" bar! Turtle candies!)

I second the chocolate, but it would also be excellent with yellow cake, white cake, butter pecan. Probably most anything icon_rolleyes.gif

Mmmm, chocolate, actually making one tomorrow with the caramel sauce. Any leftover caramel goes on pumpkin pancakes so yeah, I'd definitely put it on a pumpkin cake!!
