Cute Idea For Holiday Packaging Of Oreo Cookies!!!
Baking By Cookies4kids Updated 29 Aug 2010 , 10:22pm by thin4life
I am curious what size of bag I should use to hold two oreos from the molds, back to back?? cuz i don't want it a tight fit, i am going to use royal icing to decorate it and i also don't want it to loose. any suggestions would be so helpful. TIA!! Have a sweet weekend everyone!!
angelatx..

Just kidding Lily, I have not seen you around much ! You must be busy baking ?

oh man, it didn't let me but its at sugarshack. the lil clear boxes that lilybird talked about or something similar. hope i can post the name....
A quick question...anybody else having trouble finding the banana cream Oreos? I've looked everywhere, but only found the banana cream "Cakesters". I'm totally bummed that I can't find these!
i always hear everyone talking about different flavored oreos and i only have heard of the regular ones and the ones with choco in the middle, but never of any other flavors. gee that kinda bites! have a great day everyone!!!
i went to the nabisco website and looked for other flavors and they don't even have them listed on there. well i will have to keep my eyes open for sure. pb huh? never had them.
angelatx,
I live in Texas too and have seen the orange and red filled oreos. I think the mint also. I haven't seen the other flavors but will sure be looking. I have got to try these. Also try the ritz crackers with pb in the middle then coated with chocolate. I have done these by hand but didn't know there was a mold.
To package them for a baby shower how about making a napkin diaper and inserting two cookies in each?
I just finished my DIL shower and wish I had known about these.
hi hummingbird, yeah i have seen the mint ones also, but not any of the others ones. i am in west tx. where you are located at? i am in midland/odessa to be more precise. i have never heard of a "napkin diaper" do you have a pic of it? have a great day everyone!!
I've tried the mint, the strawberry shortcake, and the peanut butter. All have been very yummy! The strawberry ones were a limited run, and I haven't seen them lately. I also haven't tried the vanilla Oreos with the chocolate filling, but I would think they would be good dipped!
Has anyone tried adding flavored chips to the chocolate for dipping? I was wondering what raspberry chips or cinnamon chips would be like if mixed with the chocolate.
I am in East Texas, small town between Lufkin & Beaumont. The "napkin diaper" is made from a cocktail size napkin folded to resemble a tri-fold diaper. (You may not be old enough to remember these.) Glue corners and glue on small safety pin. Plastic if you can find them. Some dip this in wax to seal completely but I didn't this time and they worked fine for mints. This picture isn't very good but there is a site that explains it better. I will pm it to you when I find it.
oh ok, i think i have seen those. super cute idea. yeah pm hummingbird when you find it please. Thnx! still waiting for my spinning leaf molds. haven't gotten here. i ordered the plain ones so that way i can decorate with whatever i want. hi fiddlesticks! have a great day everyone.
I really like this thread...do you think those of you that have used these spinning leaf molds could post your pictures here so we can see them in actual cookie form? I'd love to see it. Especially the ones with designs in them.
I just got my order the other day from Spinning Leaf. Excellent customer service. I ordered the wrong molds, the mini ones. SO I emailed them and asked if I could ship them back and replace with regular size oreo molds. They told me to keep the mini's and they would ship the regular ones to me free of charge! I will be doing my nutter butter ones tonight so I will post pictures on my blogspot, later. They also have a great tutorial for these.

Thanks for pointing these out to me. I'd never seen them before. I just purchased the plain, snowflake & halloween ones. Can't wait to get them. Now I am off to the supermarket to try & find orange filled ones to go with the halloween ones!

You could try doing a search, as I know there have been pictures posted in the Cookie gallery of these.
I just got back from the store and when I was there I noticed an end cap with the banana split oreo's! I was going to get them but decided not too!

oh gee, super cute jescapade!!! so how long did it take you to get your molds?? did you order from spinning leaf?? i only ordered the plain molds, i figured i could order the lil "lay ons" from country kitchen sweetart or just put my designs on them with royal icing myself.
thanks! i did order some molds from spinnng leaf. they came in a few days. not long at all.
the froggie mold is actually a soap mold i got on ebay. i'll try to find a way to get an oreo into anything!!
OMG Jessica..those are awesome!!! The smiling faces mold just cracks me up. Your chocolate looks so nice and shiney..what brand do you use? I love the look of these molds even more now that i see how crisp it covers the cookies. Wonderful work.
