Pics From Lambeth & Australian Class At Wilton
Decorating By BlakesCakes Updated 14 Sep 2008 , 7:01pm by BlakesCakes
I just got back from taking the Lambeth & Australian Stringwork class at Wilton in Chicago. What a great week of learning & playing
I also had the pleasure of sitting across from APrettyCake from here on CC, so it really was a nice time of talk and piping!
The key to both techniques is planning, lots of measuring, marking, and good royal icing.
No way that these are "commercial" ways to decorate, but if you love to pipe, this is heaven.
Enjoy the pics!

Your cakes are stunning, truly! The Lambeth Method is one of my favorites! I wish I had the time and skill to do it, though it would be nowhere near as perfect as yours.
Can you see how green I am?? Your cakes are beautiful works of art!! My hubby bought me a copy of Lambeth's book but I haven't had a chance to sit and play with it. I would love to be able to go to Witon's classes in IL but right now it's not do-able. I love your cakes!!
I tried opening the pictures and got a general error message

404 File Not Found: The File files/lambeth_cushions_primroses_small_963.jpg does not exist.
I can tell others are seeing them... were they visible in the thread or did you open them somehow?
I got that message for the last picture only. I do not know what is wrong with the system, but it is happening more frequently. Time for tech support.
The techniques look beautiful. So glad you got to go.

Oh, thanks for posting this. I was admiring your cakes in the gallery. Now, I've got to get more information on the classes in Chicago. I am so very, very impressed by your skills and the beautiful manner in which you created those masterpieces. Is this a class that is offered regularly? I must have more information!!!! I think I'm going to be hooked.

I got the same thing for the first couple of times but I kept clicking on both the typed description and the little box with the red "X" on it - most of them came up after a couple of tries.
Thanks for all of the compliments!
I find that seeing the photos in the post can be hit or miss, too--- some show up one time and not another. I've had this going on with CC for about a month, so I think it's a site problem.
I've posted all of the pics in my photos, so if you click on that, you should be able to see them just fine.
