When you make a stacked cake the is not going to be moved-do you need to put a large dowel rod thru the whole cake. It is only 2 tiers 8, 12. I will use the boba teas straws to support the top tier. Thanks for any help!
No it is not necessary It's just there to help keep all the tiers together. If you are not transporting the cake, no need for it.
