Do you think bettercreme would be available at a Cash&Carry? I just caught a glimpse of one of these stores yesterday, and for some reason, the name sounds very familiar. I am crossing my fingers that it might be because someone might have mentioned that they carry it.

I'm almost crying - for happiness. After posting the reply about Cash and Carry, I called them. They HAVE IT! They HAVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for sooooooo cheap compared to the $50.00 I spent to special order 1 gallon, theirs is $17.00 for an 8lb. carton. My week just got SOOOOOOOOOOO much brighter even though its raining cats and dogs outside.I am a happy woman. Can you all tell??? icon_biggrin.gificon_lol.gif

Sharon, I am so happy for you!! I have one question though... is it the liquid or the prewhipped? I am trying to imagine how much 8lbs of it is. I buy it by the quart, so I am totally lost on how much you are buying. dunce.gif

TyeRiley, I'm telling you... no matter what you do... it just keeps getting better. Strawberry is awesome, I am salivating just thinking about it. If you can get some malt powder, dissolve a little in some Bettercreme, then add that to strawberry for a strawberry malt! Oh baby... all you need is a spoon, but in a cupcake it's even better! Keep experimenting with it and you'll be a full fledged addict!!! thumbs_up.gif You almost can't mess it up!

Raquel, we have GOT to find you some!! No joke lady!

It is the liquid one Melvira. They come in this huge carton. Actually I think it is the gallon carton that weighs 8 pounds. The $50.00 gallon icon_mad.gif carton I had special ordered came like that too. I just thawed it pre-measured it in freezer bags and took one out of freezer when it was time for me to make some.

Melvira, How would you do cookies and cream bettercream?

Well, there are two ways really! First you can do it using the Jell-O cookies and cream pudding following either of the second two versions of my recipe, or you can just use actual crushed cookies and follow any three of the versions, just folding in the cookies at the very end after everything is whipped and smooth! If you do the second or third variation (the naughtier ones!) you can use both the pudding AND real cookies. That's how you get the cookie-est results! thumbs_up.gif

THANKS! I like the naughty one, adding pudding and the crushed oreo's. Some recipes say to take the cream out of the cookies, Should I do that?

Only if you have something against them. icon_confused.gif Some people just don't like the chunks of filling in there, it's totally a personal taste issue. The cookies will crush more 'neatly' without them, but it's all about how you like it! The Bettercreme itself can kind of 'replace' the filling if you take it out. Personally, I just take out as many as I can eat in one sitting. Hehehe!! icon_twisted.gif

Mel, thank you for reintroducing me to Bettercreme. I've used it before but not full of yummy flavorings...I have some work to do now!!!

Ohh my.. Ok I've only read to page 11 but wanted to add something before I forgot.

Besides pastry pride, Rich's Bettercreme, and some of the others mentioned, there is also a product called Flavor Right. It is basically the same as Rich's. www.flavorright.com For those of you that can't find the others. Also, these bettercremes are frozen products..therefore I believe they CANNOT be shipped.

Thanks for the information on Flavor Right... I scanned the website, and cannot see where it is distributed, and is it available retail, or only to the trade.. do you have any information?

I have a product page with a phone number on the back..it's located in Columbus OH...now, I don't know if that's the plant or what. I had a salesman come by awhile ago with samples of Flavor Right products, this also includes the Whip'n Ice mentioned before. 888 464 3734

The Whip'n ice is the product similar to Rich's Bettercreme

Good luck

Nah Seagoat, I'm packing for a weekend trip. Unfortunately my husband's great aunt passed away and this weekend is the estate sale. We are going for moral support for his mom. This was her only living relative other than her 2 kids and her 1 sister. So... that's like losing a fourth of your family! icon_cry.gif Anyway, you guys won't be hearing much from me over the weekend, so try and keep it down to 10 pages per thread!! icon_rolleyes.gif

I just realized that Mel is out of town but I have a question. On the first page she decribed making a peanut butter bliss cupcake with peanut butter syrup. What kind of syrup is she talking about? Is it the kind that is Resee's and it does a magic shell? I dont want to get the wrong thing. Can anyone help?

NO.. NOT the one that makes a shell !!!!! Hersheys has lots of flavored syrups, the choc malt the strawberry theres a choc pb just depends on whats in your area but not the shell. You can add just about any brand syrup you might have around just be carefull how soupy you make it.

lucky14, if you're in range of a Sam's Club you can buy a 5 gallon bucket of prewhipped or cases of prewhipped colors. Other than that, the only place I've seen it is online.
