Can anyone tell me how to keep the outline from smudging on the BCT when you add the other colors on top of it. I tried freezing it first, but that did not work. Help!!!

I'm not an expert by any means, but I did my first FBCT last night and I realized at the beginning smudging was going to be a real problem (I had a lot of black on mine), so I just made sure my icing was really thick, and I also used the butter/crisco recipe, it didn't smudge (just a little), it really turned out nice for my first try, the person I made it for was thrilled...its posted under kids birthdays, The Incredibles.

I saw that, you really did a good job. I did post mine as well, under "Themed/Music". I did a piano keyboard and there was a lot of black. It did not turn out like I had hoped at all. My first try I was really pleased with, I did a Pooh transfer at that time.

It comes out better with using med. consistency icing. I use regular BC icing on my transfers. The 1/2 butter 1/2 crisco melts too fast for me. Also after you fill in all the color dab your finger in cornstarch & pat lightly on the BCT. Do that before you put the background color on. It works! You'll get better & better everytime you do it.

Do as the turtle Lady suggest and it should come out Great! That is how I do it and it works great for me.
