My friend has requested an Elton John cake for her husband's birthday.

Without using a photo of Elton John, any ideas how I can do this? I thought about big glasses but not sure what to make them out of.

The only idea I came up with is piano keys around the sides of the cake, maybe out of fondant.

Any ideas on how to make this an obvious Elton John cake?

Thanks.

I think that the piano keys around the cake sound good, and so do the glasses. maybe make them out of gumpaste and add sparkle and maybe a bright color like purple or something. hth

Can you do a piano cake? Maybe with glassses on lying on top of it? I also found thios cool pic of elton and thought the background would make a nice cake pattern. Don't know who created the piano pic, found it in google images.

Are you selling it to her or just giving it to her? If you are not selling it, you can do an image of Sir Elton.
You can also make one of his crazy hats, sunglasses from gumpaste and edible glitter, along with the piano keys.

Red piano, rock candy for rhinestones glasses frames, a yellow brick road, a crocodile surrounded with rocks, a silhouette of marilyn monroe, a small ballerina (tiny dancer), pinballs, a candle with the flame blowing, a jet. Just a few ideas from his songs...

With enough images of his songs it would be quickly evident to a fan what the cake was all about.

Or google his album covers and use edible images or CT's to duplicate them on the sides of the cake.

He has always been known for crazy hats so maybe incorporate your ideas into a mad hatter design.

Can you tell that I'm a huge fan?!? icon_smile.gif HTH

I would do the jacket he wears on the cover of Yellow Brick Road.
