Hi all,

Hope you can help me. I am thinking of selling my cakes now (I live in PA).

How much should I charge per serving and labor? And novelty cakes like, Dora (Wilton Cake pan) would cost?? I am bit confuse on how much these novelty cakes would cost. I don't know how much serving there is in these types of cakes.

Please help.

If you are trying to sell cakes out of your home you may want to check of the cake decorating business forum (there is a thread at the top) to see if your state will license a home bakery, else it's illegal

cakes made from copyrighted characters are illegal to sell as well and the copyright owner can sue you

you can check your local bakeries (actual bakeries and not grocery store bakeries) and see what they are charging and at least start around that price range

a little off subject, but the best advice i was given about pricing cakes was if you are not going to price your cakes correctly, you are better off giving them away for free.
