I saw a cake that the caption read that the pearls around the bottom layers of cakes were made from chocolate. Does anyone know how this is done? I've only ever made mine out of fondant

Try using chocolate fondant and do it the same way you do your regular white ones or even better try making them out of tootsi rolls!
