Question About A Dense Cake

if i wanted to decorate a cake with fondant. Does it have to be a dense one? Does anyone have a good recipe

You want a more sturdy cake to be able to hold the fondant. I wouldn't use a light and airy cake if I was going to do fondant.

I baked one of my pound cake recipes in round pans and I'm going to apply fondant to it.

Do you bake from scratch or a mix? It'll be easier to get a recipe if we know what you prefer...

i too am trying to find a good dense cake recipe, i tried one pound cake recipe and it came out terrible. doe any one hsve a tried and true recipe they recommned, preferably from scratch
