Hi Y'all,
I looking for a recipe for a firm cake that is good for carving. I need it to hold true to shapes well, but still taste great. Any suggestions? detective.gif

Pound cake is good for carving. I've also carved with the WASC. Not sure if you're looking for scratch or mix?

Pound cake is my first choice, but if you have another recipe that is densely textured you could use that. I use The Cake Mix Doctor pound cake recipes but have also carved with the chai tea cake recipe here on CC.

Just go to the recipe section, and Search for "Durable". There is a white, and chocolate recipe that are perfect for carving. I have also used the WASC if the carving is not too extreme. Helps to chill the cake first also...

Good luck! icon_smile.gif
