i have never cut a stacked tier cake, and i need help what do i place in between tiers so that the icing does not come off when i remove a top tier? need advice or tutorial on cutting a cake, thanks.

When you do stacked cakes, you need to ice ( butter icing/fondant) the cakes on seperate boards. Then you need to dowel the cakes and you can use a little bit of powdered sugar in between the cakes to stop sticking to board. Here are the links from Wilton on how to do a stacked cake.

And when you cut the tiered cakes, start from the top tier.
