I want to use a favorite fabric as mine for inspiration on my next cake. It has a very detailed design to it and was wondering if there is a way to lay the fabric over the fondant and trace it? Then paint the design in with gold luster. Is that possible? If so, could someone give me direction?

When you lay the fabric to trace, maybe put a piece of wax paper inbetween so you don't get fibers on the fondant. This of course is if I understood the question . I just got off work and I'm tired. HTH
