I am so excited. I had my first order for the doily wrappers on 60 wedding cupcakes for this weekend. I went to Michaels and bought 3 packages of the Wilton's grease proof 10 inch doilies and cut 2 out of each doily. I decided to use a low heat glue gun to seal them so I was sure they wouldn't unwrap during the reception. Compared to the $60 plus shipping I would have spent on the the finished ones on-line I spent $5.97 plus tax and 1 1/2 hours to put them together. I charged the bride $0.50 each. I will post a picture of them Friday or Saturday!
The quality of the picture is not very good. I was running late and all I had was my phone. They turned out very nice and made the cupcakes look more elegant. I had to upload it in the gallery because it wouldn't let me attach a photo here.
I just posted new images from this weekend. I used scrapbook paper for cupcakes for a pool party. I found the sheets at Michaels for $0.25 each! I was able to get 2 - 3 out of each sheet. That is approx. $3.00 for 36 wrappers! They made the presentation so cute compared to the oily liners we usually see. Everyone loved them!
This totally rocks! I have been wanting to buy some of these wrappers but they are way too expensive ... or I can't find the kind I need. I never thought about using doilies! ![]()
