i bought this place a couple years ago, and was trying to decide if i should tear it down or fix it up...i posted about it about a year ago here, and ya'll thought i should fix it up...
well, since then i been working on the lil house behind it to live in....and i moved in a bit ago, so....pretty soon i'll start on this place...i already got quite a bit in my piggy bank for the roof...hopefully i'll have enough to do it in the fall....no need starting on the pretty stuff, till i can get the water out. LOL
Wow, I am jealous! You are making our dreams your reality. (I say "our" because I dont know if I will ever get that far, but I share your dream!) Your place has sooo much potential. A little time, love, and hard work... that will be the spot! Congrats!
Wow the jealousy is spewing out of my ears right now
All the luck too you hope your shop is just as amazing!
Looks like it will be a fun job! Definatly has great potenial. Posts pics of the progress please!
I have never seen anything like the bright colored house. It is absolutely adorable. It looks like it is full of life and fun. I think it is a great example to inspire you.
Your house is going to be so cute and wonderful. It will make people smile and think of happy and good times. ![]()
I must confess I burst out laughing when I saw the 2nd pic ... it is SUCH a contrast to the first one! And the "bargain" name on the front is perfect for it right now!
But like everyone else, I SO see the potential in it! Gosh, what I'd give to have all of those windows!!! ANd it's all yours! I've VERY envious!!!
I know that it will be beautiful when you are through with it. Dreams do come true. Please do post pics of your progress as you go. Good luck!!
I'm a big dreamer too - but no courage to follow through. I congratulate you for having that courage.
Paint is one of the simplest and cheapest ways to decorate - so maybe if you take the existing building and just paint with any whimsical colors that you love. It'll be a start!
I wish you all the best - keep us posted

Minnie's house is such a cute inspiration for a bakery... It looks like a cupcake to me. There is definitely some potential in the building you're remodeling. Some chunky trims and bright paint, you could do wonders with the exterior of that building.
Good luck.
i think that there are great lines... in the second building... and minnies house is awesome inspirations for a bakery... cuz its sute and sugary and adorable... YOU GO GIRL... i am envious, but happy for you....
minnie's house is soooooo cute!!
i can't wait to see how your fixer-upper turns out!!
First of all, congrats on buying the shop, and moving into your new home!! Your shop looks like it will be the perfect little baker when you get done with it!
Not sure if you've already decided on a name for your bakery...but after seeing your pictures, I thought I might tell you this. My SIL and I joke about having our own show on the Food Network one day, I'm going to make cakes, cookies, etc for the first half of each show, and for the second half, she's going to make them healthy. Anyway, we decided that we would name our show 'CRAVINGS'. Thought it might be a cute name for a bakery too. Especially one like the first pic.
THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT!
i didn't know that was minnies house!...i google houses all the time...i think i might have put in pink house this time.
this place was packed to the ceiling with junk and old furniture...no one wanted it, there was about 30 feral cats and an old bum living in there too...
i got it for a song...there was a small (700 sq. ft )building behind it that went with it...they used to sell bar b que out of it...i live there now...it took a year to get it livable...i finally moved in it because i was getting tired of robbers stealing all my power tools and stuff....
THEN
...the water main broke...i mean there was no saving it....over 130 feet of crumbling line under concrete....so i carried water from the shop to the house for several months.....since i couldn't afford 3 grand for the plumber...my son and i got shovels and a concrete saw and put it in ourselves.(we looked it up om you tube)
it's been an adventure.....but i love an adventure...although taking a shower with a metal bucket with holes punched in it nailed to the ceiling joist kinda sucked...HA HA HA...HOW GILLIGANS ISLAND!...but i'll never take hot running water for granted again.
thanks for the name suggestion...but i've been in business here 6 years called "the little cake co."...that's how everyone knows me.
i already bought some antique stained glass windows off ebay to put in the place....i think i'm really gonna try to do it up.....PINK AND PURPLE!....i may even mix some glitter in the varnish and make it shiney.
think i'll go look at mickeys house now...and some other disney stuff...THANX GUYS!
