Hey there - I've been contacted to do a cake this autumn for a 13-yo girl who will be finishing her chemo treatment. The family is planning on a HUGE party, catered and in a hall. It's going to be poking fun at the amount of time the girl has had to spend in the hospital - they want to decorate the hall space with peeping IV poles and such.

I have NO CLUE what kind of cake to do for this kind of event. The girl is funky and smart, has taken her illness in stride. No formal cake here.

Any ideas?

You might do an IV bag and instead of ounces have the days listed that she was in the hospital on the bag. Maybe have the day she got out with a big smiley on it. icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe make the cake look like a teenagers messy room, but with a hospital bed instead of a regular bed? Clothes could be hanging from the I.V. pole or the I.V. bag could say perfume or pop.

A very simple idea would be a plain white cake with the word chemo on it with the red circle with the slash across.
