They have not given me any guidance..........they trust me !?!
It is a bridal shower and the room has a tropical feel to it.
Bright orange and I think she said green. Don't want it to be
boring. Want these people to know I can decorate. I tried to get
them to do round/tiered but they said a sheet cake would be fine.
Only for 40 so not a huge cake. I thought about doing the
hawaiian shirt cake if it was a couple shower. The other thing I need
to mention is it is not bc, it is whipped so I am not sure what
I can pull off with that stuff.
Thanks guys!

Have you checked the gallery? There is a listing for tropical cakes. I did a tropical b-day cake recently & went with the palm tree on beach & a giant flower lay draped around the whole thing. All the flowers are colorful & bright. It would be cute to put flip flops or beach towels on the beach with their names or monogram on them. Hope this helps.

I get this request all the time for all occasions...birthday, baby and bridal showers, grad parties..everything.

I have 1 design that everyone likes. It is a sheet cake frosted blue then I add light brown sugar islands. Tint some piping gel blue and use a smaall spatula to spread it over the blue frosting being sure to make dips in the frosting to create waves in the "water". Add some palm trees and fondant beach balls, a couple of miniature lawn chairs and some brightly colored gumpaste lilys. Maybe even a mini cruise ship in the water with tiny cans tied to the back. Or the beach towels like joy5678 suggested. It is very easy. I have a photo of one I did for a retirement party. I will try to post it.

Wow! That is a lot of detail in that cake......great job.

Thank you for all of your suggestions. I had thought about flip flops but not about beach towels.
