If they're small can you put them on the sides? Like small characters?

You sure can! They don't have to be small just small enough to fit on the sides. I've even seen them laying over the sides of a cake. I love BCT's!! They are so fun!

Good luck! Make sure you don't have your icing too thick. It will smear. I use medium icing~
