OK, so I get a call today for a cake and I need to overnight by Thursday, from FL to LA!! It is for a 10" and 6" stacked cake, I'll be recreation one of my own cakes, just different colors!

I'll ship them separately, 2 boxes, for them to stack once they get them.
So here is my question... how much do you think a 10" fondant covered cake weighs and a 6"? Both being round cakes.
I know my fondant covered cakes are very heavy, not only because of the fondant but because they are very dense and moist (I think I'll be making WASC) but have no clue how much, I want to be as accurate as possible so I can giver her a shipping quote!
Any thoughts??? Please, I need help!
Oh, and anybody with shipping cakes experience? Any tips?
Thanks so much, I know I can count with my CC family!!!!!
This is not a knock on your product, 'kay?
I'd make dead sure that the check clears before sending anything.
There are plenty of cake folks in LA, you know?

Thanks for the concern! It is for a family friend.
Soooo no weight info??? Anybody?
My 9" one layer is 2#s plain, baked 2"tall. Don't know if that helps.

I just thought of this when I hit send. Look at your recipes, and add up ingredients. It will get you close.

Thanks Mike! That does help a LOT! I will calculate it that way! Just will add the weight of the fondant and BC, which is easier...
Thanks again!!!!!!
