This is not fair!!!!!!
They are both too beautiful to compete against each other !!!!! I can't decide.
OMG! You both did a fantastic job! These are drop dead gorgeous cakes....You both can be proud! Any mother would love these!
How am I supposed to choose between these two?! They are so very different but are both so lovely and any mom would be overjoyed to receive either of them. Great job ladies!!
Tomorrow at 10 am is when I believe the TD is officially over. If you haven't already, please try to vote in the other four TD's as well (in the forums under General).
Ok girls .. I have no clue who's cake is who's to announce the winner.. so if you don't care.. winner step up and take a bow..
These cakes were both so beautiful!!! Congrats to both of you!!! Your both winners in my book..
I truly hope lea is ok... I don't have a clue what happened to her.
So should we really tell you who's cake is who's? I don't want to break any rules here.
No it won't break rules Jacqui .. it was over on Sat.
Was your cake the winner my dear?
They were both very beautiful cakes!!!
I just want to say that Wendy and I have become very good friends over the past year or so and we met here on CC. I think we both do pretty awsome cakes! I LOVED her cake and agree with everyone that it would be beautiful as part of a tiered wedding cake (Wendy, I love you girl!).
Yes, mine was the geranium and I got the idea from Scott Wooley Clark's cake. I have never done geraniums before and while it took FOREVER!! It was a great experience.
I have to share my Mother's Day story with you. My cake was the centerpiece at our brunch table in which my husband and daughter made and served Mother's Day brunch to me and my MIL. Both my FIL and MIL just thought it was a container with silk geraniums in it. They were so shocked when I said, let's cut the cake and I started cutting!!
One more thing I gotta share...Wendy and I will be attending Bronwen Weber's Class on Saturday...WHOO HOO...we got the last 2 spots and we are jumping with excitiment!!!
Congratulations Jacqui!!! Yours was the better of the two.
But...for a last minute cake, I think mine wins...lol.
My original cake ended up being somewhat of a disaster...my saddle broke. So I made due with what I had....some fantasy flowers, etc.
I want to thank Jacqui for all her help with my cake issues (edible images, etc) AND for her e-mails which prompted my DH to enable me to go to Bronwen Weber's class this saturday!!!!
Holy crackamoly!!!! I cant BELIEVE I am taking her class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yayyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, Wendy I have to disagree...I don't think mine was "better" than yours but I think it fell into the "unique" catagory. You are a very talented lady!!
I can't wait till SATURDAY!!!
Congrats to both of you: firstly for being such great friends, next for being able to take Bronwen Weber's class, and finally for both making such awesome cakes.
Jacqui, congratulations on winning the TD! Though I loved both cakes, yours just had that touch of realism.... I can see why your in-laws were shocked when you began cutting into it!
