I have been asked by my daughters friend if I would do her wedding cake. YAY! BUT..I'm not sure what info I need from her other than the obvious-date, time, flavors. And howdo I need to handle a contract, payment etc. ANY help would be so appreciated.

You treat her like any other customer (except for a small discount if you so choose!). Contracts are signed, payments are made on time, etc, etc etc. I do cakes for my friends all the time, but it's business, not personal!

Go to earlenescakes.com. There is a sample contract and brides letter, etc. It is full of great info.

bonjovibabe and tastyart--Thank you for the responses. I will be giving hert a discount since they are on a limited budget and I will definitely check out Earlens site.
