what is the difference between Alpine and Sweetex? Besides the price of maybe 20-30 dollars?

I have been looking over the internet to find a supplier near me and all I find are these 2 product brands and varying prices between the 2 on different web sites.

I found out I do have a wholesale meat and candy company a few miles from me maybe they can get the hi ratio shortening.

But 20-30 dollar difference in the products for 50 lbs??????????

I have never used sweetex but have used alpine. I think alpine works just fine but like I said I have never used sweetex to know the difference.

ive only used sweetex...i read somewhere they are made by the same co.

online i have seen sweetex for 89.99 for 50lbs plus shipping..i found a restaurant depot near me that sells it for 57.00!!!

now i used it for the first time yesterday with my usual icing recipe (sugarshacks) and it didnt come out as smooth as it usually does, so im wondering if its because it was to warm in my house?

but ive always had success with sweetex.
