Eggs in batter and refrigerated or eggs in carton and refrigerated. Same thing.
Y'all don't need to make baking harder than it is. Scratch batter WILL hold in the fridge - for days. Scratch batter WILL hold in the freezer - for weeks.
Exceptions are scratch batter that is leavened exclusively with baking soda won't hold more than a few hours; batter leavened by whipped egg whites will hold overnight.
Boxed mixes pretty much can't be ruined.
